In 2026, BeforePlaces transformed a disused urban court in Azzano Decimo into a living public space. A regeneration project developed with AVIS, the national blood-donor network, and realized under the artistic direction of Riccardo De Biasi. What had been an abandoned stretch of concrete became a bold, hand-painted landmark of reds, blues, and watchful eyes, brought to life by the community itself across days of collective work. The premise was deliberate: a public space stays alive through what people invest in it — their time, their hands, their sense of belonging. The result is a place that now anchors the life of the district — evidence that an overlooked space, given vision and partners, can become civic infrastructure a community sustains on its own.
